Running Crypto Ads on Bigo Ads in India: The Disclaimer Rules and What They Actually Mean
Bigo Ads has specific creative rules for crypto and Web3 campaigns targeting India. Here are the disclaimer requirements, the wording, the formatting rules, and what happens when you get them wrong.

Most platforms either ban crypto outright or hide their rules in a developer doc no one reads. Bigo Ads does neither. Crypto and NFT campaigns are explicitly permitted in India, and the rules are explicit too. They are also unforgiving: get them wrong and your ads get tagged "VDA" with limited delivery and almost no impression volume. This post walks through every rule in plain English, the wording you actually have to use, and the creative spec requirements.
Why India has its own rule set
India regulates virtual digital assets (VDAs) under the Ministry of Finance and the Income Tax Department. Platforms that carry VDA advertising in India are required to enforce specific disclosure rules at the creative level. Bigo applies these as platform policy: your creative team needs to know them, your AM needs to enforce them, and the audit team will reject anything that misses them.
The mandatory disclaimer
Every crypto or NFT creative targeting India must carry this exact disclaimer:
"Crypto products and NFTs are unregulated and can be highly risky. There may be no regulatory recourse for any loss from such transactions."
The wording is not negotiable. Paraphrasing fails review.
The formatting rules
How the disclaimer is presented matters as much as whether it is present.
For static images:
- The disclaimer must cover at least 1/5 of the image space.
- It must use a distinguishable font (not buried in 6pt text).
For videos around 15 seconds:
- The disclaimer must be shown for the duration of the video.
For videos longer than 2 minutes:
- Show at the beginning and at the end.
- Each placement must be no less than 5 seconds.
Required advertiser identification
Beyond the disclaimer, every creative must clearly show:
- The advertiser's name.
- A contact method: either a phone number or email address.
This is a transparency rule. Anonymous crypto ads get rejected.
Banned creative content
There are four things you cannot do in your creative or copy:
- Guarantee profits. "Earn 20% returns" or "make money fast" or "guaranteed gains" all fail.
- Imply easy money. Lifestyle shots of stacks of cash, sports cars, luxury watches captioned with crypto returns all fail.
- Encourage investment without consideration. "Invest now, think later" framing fails.
- Use specific banned terms. The words "Currency", "Securities", "Custodian", and "Depositories" cannot appear in the ad text or creative. Calling your token a "currency" alone is enough to fail review.
What happens when you get it wrong
When the audit team finds a creative that fails any of the three core rule sets (disclaimer, advertiser info, banned content), the ad is moved to "Limit Delivery" status with a "VDA" tag. The campaign keeps running on paper. In practice, volume collapses to almost zero. You will see spend trickle out at a few dollars a day with no conversions.
This is by design. The platform does not want to manually reject every creative in a high-volume vertical. It just kills your delivery and waits for you to fix the creative.
The pre-flight checklist
Before you submit any crypto or NFT creative for India, run this five-point check:
- The exact disclaimer wording is present.
- The disclaimer formatting matches the spec for your creative type (1/5 of image, full video for short videos, 5s each end for long videos).
- Your advertiser name is visible.
- Phone or email contact is visible.
- None of the four banned terms (Currency, Securities, Custodian, Depositories) appear anywhere in your copy or creative.
If all five tick, you are clear. If any one is missing, fix it before submission.
How Adtucon handles this for you
We give every new Bigo Ads client a one-page compliance brief per geo and vertical before any creative goes into production. For India crypto, that brief includes the exact disclaimer text, formatting templates for image and video, and a banned-words list. Your design team builds against the brief. The first submission passes. The campaign launches with full delivery. The audit team never sees the same mistake twice.
India crypto is one of the most rewarding Bigo Ads verticals in 2026 once the compliance setup is right. If you want a compliance brief built around your specific creative pipeline, the Bigo Ads page is here or book a 15-minute consult.
